An Empress at the castle I

Recently Teresa and I spent a beautifully sunny autumn day walking up to and around the Castle of São Jorge (Castelo de São Jorge) in Lisbon – about 30 minutes drive from where we live. As she has described in some of her recent works, this Moorish castle occupies a commanding position overlooking the city of Lisbon and the broad Tagus River (Rio Tejo) beyond.

The strongly fortified citadel, which, in its present configuration, dates from medieval times, is located atop the highest hill in the historic centre of the city – and its quite a climb up to the entry point.

I am busy processing the huge number of shots I took – including some of Teresa – to try to develop some skills in using HDR.. I will post more shots in the days to come – I hope you will like them
