A Prince amoungst men by Arte-de-Junqueiro A Prince amoungst men by Arte-de-Junqueiro
Let me introduce you to Ricardo Diniz.... An old friend of Teresa :icontigles1artistry: who with great patience and humility was teaching me to fly a para-glider from February to late May this year.....

My "incident" has been recorded. It was all my fault - and Ricardo ensured I was treated properly and with due care through the painful hours after the "landing"......

Today I made the "painful" but necessary decission NOT to continue with this amazing sport. See my earlier deviations.. and

The welcome I received from Ricardo and the rest of the "fliers" was both stunning and humbling - and I am invited to join then any time for photos (they like my work) and "tandem flights" whenever!!!! Truly I have some great friends..

There is a poem to accompany these shots - It expresses my admiration for Ricardo Under A Wing With A Prayer In Your Heart Living life on a wing and a prayer,
Basically hoping you won't "crash and burn",
Can this describe the best life you can live,
An existence filled with fear, doubt and pain?

Sounds like a modern day investment policy,
Used all too often in recent years by some,
Bankers and gamblers, politicians by another name,
Sounds like a recipe for a disaster, pray to get by?

But life is for living, eyes open, with hope and love so,
How about "under a wing – with a prayer in your heart"?
Thank you my dear friend, you really taught me how to fly,
Free of the noise, wind in my face, up there with the birds.

Where feathered wings show you th

For me it has been a wonderful (if painful) journey - I have had no nighmares about the accident at all... All my nighmares have been "living ones"..... LOL
I'm afraid of heights, I would never go up there but I like to watch... A beautiful and most impressive shot, my dear friend!:hug:

Thank you so much dearest Christina  I made 11 solo flights - crashing and damaging myself very badly on the last one... I am proud that I managed as much as I did as I am afraid of heights and not a good fligher - especially in turbulance... I managed to overcome my fears to do this (stepping into air 100m above the ground) and it taught me a lot about myself, which was part of the reason I did this.... But now is the time to find other challenges that put me at less risk of serious or life threatening injuries
I'm sorry to hear about the accident, my dear... Sometimes, sad things can happen to teach us about our limits and as long as they aren't too too bad, they can prove to be very useful for a happier life. And yes, please find other challenges, less risky ones...:hug:

I was very lucky - it took 4 months for my fractured pelvic bone and 2 vertibrae to heal.... now I only get pain when the weather changes... ;-)
You were lucky, my Mel...
